Pratish Singh- My friend the robot

On a fine Saturday morning, when the alarm struck eight, I was surprised to find a parcel from my elder brother, a scientist, applying his trade in a big multinational company in the United States. My initial reaction on receiving the parcel was a new Mac book but my life took a U-turn when I opened that heavy looking parcel.

It was a robot named Atom but unlike any other robot it was a personal plus 5000 robot -
a rare type who could mimic whatever he watched. It was very easy to work with as it came with no controllers. In the beginning, I did not know how it really worked.

A few days after getting my robot, I was dancing to some random beats when he suddenly came out and started mimicking me. The most shocking part was when he danced in the same pattern as I did. By now, he was exactly copying all of my moves. If I was not biased, I would say he was dancing better than I was. At that moment, I realized that what I had was a special robot and started teaching him many different skills. As time passed by I slowly taught him the English language and by the end of six months, he spoke fluently. He now speaks more than thirty-four languages!

I used to take him everywhere and boast it to my friends. They would click pictures and get overly jealous of a one of a kind robot. Nonetheless, they still do take pictures here in NASA, as Atom and I work together learning new things everyday.

P.S My brother never made another prototype of ATOM because he died due to cancer and all of his researches were handed down to me.
